Services for reliable lift systems
If the lift system is intended for passenger transport in commercial buildings or is used as work equipment, a hazard assessment according to BetrSichV in connection with the Technical Rules for Operational Safety (TRBS) 1111 is required. Suitable protective measures are to be derived from this. DEKRA can help you to identify risks at an early stage – and save you time and costs.
Lift systems may only be commissioned if they have been inspected for proper working order by an approved monitoring body. The inspection covers the assembly, installation, setup conditions and safe function for the intended mode of operation of the system.
With the amended Occupational Safety Regulations (BetrSichV) dated June 1, 2015, the mandatory testing before commissioning applies to all lift systems for passenger transport – regardless of whether they were constructed according to the lift directive or the machinery directive. The DEKRA experts support you from the very beginning when it comes to implementing the legal requirements.
Lifts for passenger transport, such as cargo and passenger lifts, construction site lifts, facade access platforms or paternoster lifts, must be tested regularly according to BetrSichV by an approved monitoring body. For systems without passenger transport, such as small goods lifts and goods lifts, a hazard assessment is also generally required at determined intervals.
Important to know: Having a CE label does not release the lift from being subject to hazard assessment.
We use the innovative Lift Control System (LiKoS) to conduct an effective and efficient test of your lift systems. Our experts use this to test your systems quickly, with a high level of precision and in a way that protects the system itself – without using any ballast weights.
In the case of hydraulic lift systems, the DEKRA experts fit a test connection which you can keep afterwards, free of charge.
After conversions, modernizations, repairs, and other modifications, DEKRA checks your lift system before recommissioning.
In the case of hydraulically powered lift systems, our experts check whether they correspond to the Water Resources Act (WHG) and the Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Substances Hazardous to Water (VAwS or AwSV), among others.
DEKRA checks that the electrical system and operating materials of your lift system are in good working order.
If necessary, DEKRA checks that your lift system meets any special requirements, as well as in terms of equipment and retrofit safety.
Our DEKRA experts train the contracted person (lift maintenance personnel) regarding their tasks and duties. On a practical basis, knowledge about the fundamental tasks, individual lift type, necessary visual and functional checks and how to release personnel is imparted.
Our experts can put together the necessary emergency plan and emergency release guidance for you.
